Marlon DuBois is an avant garde polymath rapper, producer, director and performance artist, from ~ two hours north of NYC. He is known in the global underground for being the founding member ofShed Theory, a 10-membered east coast rap crew, incubated and emerging from a literal shed, in the woods of Woodstock, NY. While STe started to take shape in 2021, Marlon (né 2001) has been constructing digital media since kindergarten. .
his work leans far more experimental and genre-oblivious than most of his predecessors. His vocal effects, rather than sounding overly alien or robotic, inspire a feeling of human connectivity. Marlon’s productions in general, have a warmth and openness that are a welcomed contrast to both the more bleak obscenities of GBC, and the detached iciness of DG/SB. This much needed relatable humanness shines through at Marlon’s shows. He has toured extensively since 2022, domestically and overseas in Japan, Australia/ NZ and EU/UK.
Thus far Marlon has been remarkably self-produced and self-taught – recording, mixing and mastering most of his own, and much of Shed Theory’s members’ output. He has been featured on songs with Surf Gang, Smokedope2016, Bby Goyard, Bloodz Boi, Daine, and extensively with Joeyy, an early breakout Shed star. Marlon is also a highly rated video director, collab’ing on nearly 100% of he and Shed members’ MV output, additionally, he’s worked on video productions with Haunted Mound, xaviersobased, and phreshboyswag. His most recent solo albums, 2025’s pair - Boggy and Stereotype - are simultaneously his most realized works to date.
Beginning June 2025, Marlon will team up with End Overdose for all of his U.S. based performances. EO is a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to ending drug-related overdose deaths. End Overdose representatives will provide on-show/site training, and free naloxone at Marlon’s shows to educate young people on how to prevent and respond to opioid overdoses.
